JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, formerly known as JSS University, is a Deemed to be University located in Mysuru, Karnataka. It was established in 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and is part of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, which runs a variety of educational institutions. This deemed-to-be university is recognized by Ministry of Education and accredited by NAAC with A+ Grade (3.48 CGPA). JSS AHER has been graded as Category-I Deemed-to-be University by UGC.

Jamia Hamdard is an institute of higher education deemed to be university located in New Delhi, India. Established in 1989, it is a government-funded university and was formally inaugurated by then Indian prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.

JVBI was established with the inspiration of Acharya Tulsi, the 9th Head of the Jain Svetambar Terapanth religious sect, in Ladnun, Dist Nagaur, Rajasthan. In March 1991, Government of India notified JVBI as "Deemed University" under Section 3 of University Grants Commission Act, 1956. The Institute continues to be housed in the common campus of its parent body organization Jain Vishva Bharati. Acharya Tulsi remained its first constitutional Anushasta (moral and spiritual guide) followed by Acharya Mahapragya as its second Anushasta. Acharya Mahashraman is its present Anushasta.

Jain University, officially JAIN, is a private deemed university in Bengaluru, India. Originating from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, it was conferred the deemed-to-be-university status in 2009. In August 2019 Jain University opened its off campus in Kochi, Kerala.

The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education is a private deemed-to-be-university established under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. It is located in Donthanapally, Shankarapally Road, Hyderabad. IFHE is National Assessment and Accreditation Council A++ Grade University.

Graphic Era University is an Indian private deemed university located in Clement Town, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It was founded by Dr. Kamal Ghanshala in 1993. In 2008, the then-institute was accorded the status of deemed university. In 2022, the university was accredited by the NAAC with Grade A+.

Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management is a private deemed university located in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The university was founded by the late M. V. V. S. Murthi in Visakhapatnam in 1980.

DY Patil Deemed to be University School of Architecture, Navi Mumbai Is Approved by Council Of Architecture, with a COA institute code of MH-16. The School of Architecture runs under the ambit of DY Patil Deemed to be University, Navi Mumbai with a NAAC accreditation of ‘A++’ Grade and an all India NIRF ranking of 88 in 2019.

Bharati Vidyapeeth, the parent body of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), was established in 1964 by the eminent educationist and visionary Dr. Patangrao Kadam.
